that play list.
- Create your own play lists of your favourite videos and share with the world if
you like.
- Create a course on a subject of interest and optionally share. Just pick
and choose the best YouTube videos or part of videos.
- Create an index of a long video with links to sections or parts.
Quick introduction
Have you ever started researching a subject on YouTube, whether it be how to
make a cake, how to do free running, how to learn a language, etc? You end
you finding loads of good videos, bad ones, bad ones with good bits, and long
ones that you would like to view just bits again? VCourser allows
you to create a list of links to videos, including a start and end point, so
that you create your own play list or course. You can then track
your progress when going through you list within your free account. You
can then add your own notes, if needed, and if you feel like sharing your lists
with others, then just publish them to our directory.
This is also great with long 'how to ...' videos on YouTube as well. Let's say
you find a long 45 minute video which may have dozens of bits of interest.
When you go back, then you end up spending ages trying to re-find the bits you
are interested in. Well you can create a list of links to specific points
on the video, with nice short descriptions (and optional notes). Then when
you review your list you can click on links taking you back to the right points.
Import an existing YouTube play list so that you can track your own progress
Within your VCourser.com account, can simply create a play list by pointing at an existing YouTube play list so that you can then track your own progress as you want the videos.
Create your own courses and share with the world
Our founder wanted to teach his daughters self defence and started researching
the Krav Maga system (an Israeli martial art). He found loads of videos he
wanted to show them. But many YouTube videos had long intros, bits that weren't relevant, etc, so
he set up a spreadsheet to create a course to follow, with hyperlinks to the start and
end point times on the best videos. He could then track their progress on the
spreadsheet by marking which videos they had watched and added notes where
needed. The
idea for VCourser.com was then born as after tens of hours of research and
refinement, he had an excellent starter course and links to the best existing
courses that he had found.
Sharing with others and allowing them to subscribe to your lists also allows
them to share ideas back with you. They might find other excellent videos
and resources that you didn't spot and some of your subscribers may know more
about your subject and may even be able to fill in some missing pieces for you.
